It was a Friday night,  the theme- Prohibition night- mobsters, flappers, gambling and a whole lot of gin flowing. If you like western swing, rockabilly music, delta style blues then these two great Canadian acts  should not be missed.

David “Boxcar” Gates set the mood with his amazing Delta blues style finger picking and slide guitar and blues harp:

and then the  main act : Petunia & the Vipers

Petunia’s smooth unique voice  is complemented by the Vipers tight arrangements and excellent musicianship. Yes, Petunia can yodel as well!

 

 

The dance floor was full and thanks to Hillcrest Bakery 

providing snacks, home made sausage rolls and pretzels -no one went hungry.

At the end of the night, those who  donated money in order to play blackjack or roulette were entered into a draw to win a guitar! And the lucky winner!
