A Saturday to look forward to with great music, people and food put together by Legion of Sound. This is a wonderful non profit program that brings shows to communities outside of larger metropolitan areas. This ensures that upcoming artists and concert support workers can earn a sustainable living wage.
I had the opportunity to photograph 3 great acts on the night of a fun fundraiser at the Seaside Shindig – Funding the Future of Live Music.
The evening started with the delicious full Texan BBQ with all the fixin’s by Railtown Catering:
While the guests enjoyed their dinner, Sallie Carreon took to the dance floor, accompanied by 2 of her dancers and wowed everyone with her powerful voice and upbeat music.
A short intermission for the live auction to raise more funds.
Then came the local band The Escapes to play their alternative rock originals and got the crowd rockin’ out.
And now the headliner – Coco Jafro. Their combination of funky rhythms with soul, funk, jazz and afrobeat has created lively original songs that were irresistible to all the guests who just had to get up and dance the night away.
A great night, that thanks to all of those who came out to support this event, will be repeated in various communities with awesome live music!
