Can you tell a bit more about what this bird was doing at the time you took the photo?
This little fella a looks like a descendant of the Dodo bird. Correct me if i’m wrong?

The shoebill was standing perfectly still, which it can do for long periods of time, waiting for prey. Once prey ( fish, frogs, snakes, nile monitors) is spotted they do strike fast. Adults grow to around 12 lbs ( male) with an average height of 110-140 cm.
This prehistoric looking stork flew off. I do have a few photos of the bird in flight, which I can post later on. I apologize that there was not any detailed explanation with the original blog. I was just so excited to share them:-)
